Mount Vernon Farm Grass-Fed utilizes humane, sustainable, and holistic methods to produce 100% Grass-Fed, Grass-Finished Beef and Lamb as well as Pastured Pork and Soy Free Eggs. Totaling 840 acres, Mount Vernon Farm is nestled along the Blue Ridge Mountains in Rappahannock County, Virginia and has been farmed by the Miller family since 1827.
We utilize Planned Holistic Grazing through mob grazing. Our strategy is to mimic how herds would have moved across the plains centuries ago. Larger animals first, followed by smaller animals. We move our herd to fresh grass every 8-12 hours, ensuring they have ample, clean forage at all times. This grazing system improves soil health and forage. Multi-species grazing (cattle and lamb) further benefits soil health and fertility. Our Tamworth pigs are raised on pasture and live their entire lives foraging, eating apples, or digging for roots, grubs, and anything else they might get into! They also receive a certified organic, soy-free grain from a local mill.
We sell our products in vacuum sealed packaging that is flash frozen immediately after portioning. We have an on- farm store open from 1-5pm Fridays and 11am-4pm Saturdays as well as buyers clubs throughout Northern and Central Virginia. You can find the order form on our website.
